Things to Do

Little C is amazingly located to dive straight in to the dramatic north Cornish coastline, whilst also enjoying great local produce with wonderful farm shops, cafés and restaurants on our doorstep.

Beaches: Trevone is our nearest beach just 'down the road' and is small, dramatic and really well served by a beach café, shop and sauna if, like us, you love to 'sauna & swim'.  On the other side of Stepper Point you have tranquil Tregirls beach which can be easily accessed at low tide through Hawkers Point or via a slightly more adventurous terrain if the tide is high.  We have left a map in the house.  Harlyn beach is wonderful and wide-stretching (best experienced off-season) and the safest by far for amateur surfing.  Booby's bay is another family favourite but it comes with a steep descent over the rocks.  Constantine and Tregirls are the most suitable for small children. 

Sports: Surfing at Harlyn, Constantine, Boobys and Trevone depending on conditions.  Trevose Golf course is a 10 minute drive from the house and there's lots to enjoy - Short, Headland and Championship golf courses; tennis and padel courts, swimming pool in the summer and pool/food/drinks in the Club.  All require booking through the golf club reception.  Fantastic coastal walks, treks and runs from right outside our doorstep - east to Stepper Point and round to Padstow or west to Trevone and on to Harlyn, Constantine and Treyarnon.  Wonderful natural sea-water swimming pool at Trevone provided you check the tides.  Massages can be booked at Trevose Golf Club and at The Pig at Harlyn Bay.

Restaurants: We are only a few minutes' drive from Padstow and well poised to enjoy all the wonderful cafes and restaurants to be found in this pretty Harbour town.  The most famous belong to Rick Stein: the Seafood Restaurant, the Café and St. Petroc's Bistro.  We also love Prawn on the Lawn and its sister restaurant, Barnaby's, which has recently moved to a lovely setting outside of Padstow at Trevibban Mill as well as Duchy Grub at Higher Harlyn Park.  Finally, we are very fortunate to have The Pig at Harlyn Bay on our doorstep where you can enjoy lunch and dinner in the restaurant, courtyard and the more informal Lobster Shack in peak season.  Four Boys in Rock is the best over the estuary if you fancy a ride on the ferry and a change of scene!  You need to book everywhere, particularly in high season!  

Shops: There is no Ocado service to Little C, but you can arrange online delivery via Waitrose or Sainsburys.   Slots can be hard to come by, so good to book early!  Otherwise, there are plenty of options nearby and you won't starve! Tesco's in Padstow is only 5 minutes' drive away and will provide all the essentials.  On the way back, you can stop at Padstow Farm Shop for excellent local meat, cheese, vegetables, artisanal produce and an excellent Deli for lunch (pastis and delicious salads), coffee & cake or home-cooked ready made dishes made by the team at the farm.  

Trevone Beach Store also has the essentials plus children's toys and all the surfing gear you could hope for.  They also rent wetsuits if you are just testing the waters!  Much-loved Constantine Bay Stores is only a 10 minute drive and has extremely well packed aisles of good food and household essentials, as well as coffee and ice cream stations.  

Of course you also have many other small independent shops in Padstow selling artwork, clothes and food products (the Prideaux Walled Garden has a cosy bothy for tea and sells pretty flowers, candles and ceramics whilst Sabzi Deli has good coffee and warming Dhal!) as well as the all-important Boots Pharmacy.

Wadebridge is excellent if you need anything more substantial plus they have a cinema and a good health food store, Elixir Health.
